If you're currently working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and are eager to explore the dynamic world of nurse anesthesia, this is your opportunity to take the first step! Shadowing a CRNA is a great way to gain insight into the profession and strengthen your path toward a future in anesthesia.
Start by contacting the anesthesia department at your current hospital. This is likely the quickest and easiest way to shadow an anesthesia provider. Shadowing a CRNA or physician anesthesiologist is accepted by most admission programs.
If you were unable to shadow at your current facility and have no previous shadowing hours, please complete the Request to Shadow a CRNA form by clicking here.
Please note: All shadowing requests are reviewed and processed at the end of each month. Due to high demand, we can assist with only one shadow experience.
If you are not yet an RN, we applaud your interest in the CRNA profession and encourage you to continue learning more about this exciting and impactful career path. Gaining ICU nursing experience is a crucial step toward becoming a CRNA and we hope to see your request in the future!
