AZANA Statement on CRNAs Performing Transesophageal Echocardiogram

“Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologists (CRNAs), with the necessary training and education are proficient in safely performing and manipulating a Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) probe throughout the intraoperative phase. This enables CRNA's to evaluate the patient's status, manage and treat hemodynamic conditions, and provide procedural support to the qualified proceduralist, in accordance with A.R.S. 32-1634.04 sections 2, 4, and 5.”
