Advancing the art and science of anesthesia

Q: What is the difference between a CRNA and a physician anesthesiologist?

A: All anesthesia providers are taught to administer anesthesia the same way. The same medications and equipment are used whether it is by a physician or a CRNA. When a physician administers anesthesia it is done through the practice of medicine. When a CRNA administers anesthesia it is done through the practice of nursing.
